and this is a strong isnād, its men are trustworthy except for these three, about whom there is some discussion, but they strengthen each other. Ibn Jarīr said: "And this ḥadīth was narrated by Muḥammad ibn Ḥarb from Ibn Lahīʿah from ʿUqbah ibn Muslim with a similar account." I said: And this is a strong corroboration from Ibn Lahīʿah for Ḥarmalah, and it was narrated from him by Ibn Abī al-Dunyā in "Kitāb al-Shukr" p. (9), where he said: Yaʿlá ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn Yaʿlá al-Hudhali narrated to us, Bishr ibn ʿUmar narrated to us, Ibn Lahīʿah narrated it. And this Yaʿlá, I did not find anyone who translated him. And the ḥadīth, al-Ḥāfiẓ al-ʿIrāqī said in "Takhrīj al-Iḥyāʾ" (4/115): "It was narrated by Aḥmad, al-Ṭabarānī, and al-Bayhaqī in 'al-Shuʿab' with a good isnād." I said: And it is authentic in my view due to the mentioned corroboration, for Ibn Lahīʿah is trustworthy in himself, but there is concern about his poor memory, so if a trustworthy person corroborates him, that is evidence that he has remembered correctly. - "Some people from my ummah will drink wine, calling it by other than its name." It was narrated by Imām Aḥmad (4/237): ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Mahdī narrated to us from Shuʿbah, and Muḥammad ibn Jaʿfar said: Shuʿbah narrated to us from Abū Bakr ibn Ḥafṣ, who said: I heard Ibn Muḥayriz narrating from a man among the Companions of the Prophet ﷺ, who said: The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said. I said: And this isnād is authentic, all its men are trustworthy, the men of the six [books], and the unknown name of the Companion does not harm, as established in the terminology.
