ʿAbd Allāh in a raised [chain of narration]. Abū Nuʿaym said: "This is a rare ḥadīth from al-Aʿmash, exclusively reported by Mus'hir." I said: And he is weak. Al-Bukhārī said: "There is some consideration in him," as narrated by Ibn ʿAdī (343/1), and likewise in "al-Tahdhīb" and in "al-Mīzān": "Al-Bukhārī said: there is consideration in him," omitting the word "some." Perhaps this is an oversight by al-Dhahabī or the copyist. Al-Nasāʾī said: "He is not strong." As for Ibn Ḥibbān, he mentioned him in "al-Thiqāt"! Al-Ḥāfiẓ said in "al-Taqrīb": "His ḥadīth is lenient." The rest of the men in the isnād are trustworthy, the men of the two Shaykhs, except for this al-Fasawī. Al-Khaṭīb translated him (7/372) and narrated from al-Dāraqutnī that he said: "There is no harm in him." Saʿīd ibn Sulaymān is al-Ḍabbī al-Wāsiṭī, a trustworthy ḥāfiẓ among the men of the two Shaykhs. From this explanation, you learn the error of al-Haythamī's statement (7/202): "It was narrated by al-Ṭabarānī, and in it is Mus'hir ibn ʿAbd al-Malik, whom Ibn Ḥibbān and others deemed trustworthy, and there is a disagreement about him, and the rest of the men are the men of the Ṣaḥīḥ." For this al-Fasawī is not among the men of the Ṣaḥīḥ, nor even among the men of the rest of the six!
