advising the leaders of the community, and adhering to the group, for their supplication encompasses those behind them. He said: whoever focuses on the Hereafter, Allāh will gather his affairs, place richness in his heart, and the world will come to him in submission. But whoever intends the world, Allāh will scatter his affairs, place poverty before his eyes, and he will receive nothing from the world except what is decreed for him." It was recorded by Aḥmad (5/183) with this wording, al-Dārimī (1/75), Ibn Ḥibbān (72, 73 - Mawārid), and Ibn ʿAbd al-Barr in "al-Jāmiʿ" (1/38-39) from Shuʿbah, narrated to us by ʿAmr ibn Sulaymān from the descendants of ʿUmar ibn al-Khaṭṭāb (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhu) from ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Abān ibn ʿUthmān from his father. That Zayd ibn Thābit left Marwān around midday, and we said: he wouldn't have sent for him at this hour except to ask him something. So I went to him and asked him, and he said: Yes, he asked us about things I heard from the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam). I heard the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) say, and he mentioned it. This is a sound chain of narration, all its men are trustworthy. Ibn Mājah (2/524-525) narrated the last part of it from this perspective, and al-Būṣīrī said in "al-Zawāʾid" (252/1): "This is a sound chain of narration, its men are trustworthy. It was narrated by Abū Dāwūd al-Ṭayālisī from Shuʿbah in a similar manner, and it was narrated by al-Ṭabarānī with an acceptable chain."

"Do not insult Waraqah, for I have seen for him a garden or two gardens." It was recorded by al-Ḥākim (2/609) through the route of Abū Saʿīd al-Ashajj, narrated to us by Abū Muʿāwiyah from Hishām ibn ʿUrwah from his father from ʿĀʾishah (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhā) as a marfūʿ ḥadīth
