Lady ʿĀʾishah (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhā) used to keep dolls and play with them along with her companions in the presence of the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam), and he did not object to it, as established in al-Bukhārī and other sources. If that had been a barrier to the entry of angels, he (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) would not have approved of it. And Allāh knows best.

- "Whoever loves for people to stand for him, let him take his seat in the Fire." It was recorded by al-Bukhārī in "al-Adab" (977), Abū Dāwūd (5229), al-Tirmidhī (2/125), al-Ṭaḥāwī in "Mushkil al-Āthār" (2/40) with this wording, Aḥmad (4/93, 100), al-Dūlābī in "al-Kuná" (1/95), al-Mukhliṣ in "al-Fawāʾid al-Muntaqāh" (p. 196/2), ʿAbd ibn Ḥumayd in "al-Muntakhab min al-Musnad" (p. 51/2), al-Baghawī in "Ḥadīth ʿAlī ibn al-Jaʿd" (7/69/2), and Abū Nuʿaym in "Akhbār Aṣbahān" (1/219) through various chains from Ḥabīb ibn al-Shahīd from Abū Majlaz, who said: "Muʿāwiyah entered a house where ʿAbd Allāh ibn al-Zubayr and ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿĀmir were present. Ibn ʿĀmir stood up, while Ibn al-Zubayr remained seated, as he was more knowledgeable about them. Muʿāwiyah said: Sit down, O Ibn ʿĀmir, for I heard the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) say: and he mentioned it." Al-Tirmidhī said: "This is a ḥasan ḥadīth." I say: Rather, it is a ṣaḥīḥ ḥadīth, as the men of its isnād are trustworthy, the men of the two Shaykhs, and Abū Majlaz's name is Lāḥiq ibn Ḥumayd, who is trustworthy, and Ḥabīb ibn al-Shahīd is a reliable and established narrator as mentioned in "al-Taqrīb." There is no reason to limit it to being ḥasan, even though al-Ḥāfiẓ was silent about it in "al-Fatḥ" (11/42), especially since it has another chain.
