and by the authentication of al-Fasawī and Ibn Shāhīn as well, and the narration of five trustworthy narrators from him, as I have established in my new book "Taysīr al-Intifāʿ"; may Allāh facilitate its completion. Then I found the ḥadīth in "Kashf al-Astār ʿan Zawāʾid al-Bazzār" (3/230/2637): Ibrāhīm ibn Saʿīd narrated to us: Abū Usāmah and ʿAbd Allāh ibn Numayr narrated to us from al-Rabīʿ ibn Saʿd with his isnād from Jābir, similar to it in wording: "Whoever wishes to see the person most resembling the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam), let him look at al-Ḥasan ibn ʿAlī." And its isnād to al-Rabīʿ is authentic according to the conditions of Muslim. So perhaps al-Rabīʿ narrated with his mentioned isnād two texts, one concerning al-Ḥusayn and the other concerning his brother al-Ḥasan. And Allāh knows best. *

- (O Sufyān ibn Sahl! Do not let your garments trail, for Allāh does not love those who let their garments trail). It was recorded by Ibn Abī Shaybah (8/395), and from him by Ibn Mājah (3574), Ibn Ḥibbān (1449), Aḥmad (4/246, 250, 253), and al-Baghawī in "al-Jaʿdiyyāt" (101/2) from Sharīk from ʿAbd al-Malik ibn ʿUmayr from Ḥuṣayn ibn Qabīṣah from al-Mughīrah ibn Shuʿbah in a marfūʿ form. I said: And this isnād is weak due to the poor memory of Sharīk—who is Ibn ʿAbd Allāh al-Qāḍī. Then I found two supporting witnesses for the ḥadīth that strengthen it: the first: from Abū Umāmah who said: While we were with the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam), ʿAmr ibn Zurārah al-Anṣārī caught up with us wearing a garment:
