- (He was praying while al-Ḥasan and al-Ḥusayn were playing and sitting on his back, and the Muslims began to remove them; when he finished, he said: Leave them—may my father and mother be sacrificed for them—whoever loves me should love these two.) It was recorded by Abū Nuʿaym in "al-Ḥilyah" (8/305) from al-Ḥusayn ibn Zurayq al-Kūfī: Abū Bakr ibn ʿAyyāsh narrated to us from ʿĀṣim from Zur from ʿAbd Allāh who said: ... and he mentioned it as a marfūʿ ḥadīth. He said: "It is rare from the narration of ʿĀṣim, only Abū Bakr narrated it." I say: Both are reliable, but I did not find a biography for al-Ḥusayn ibn Zurayq al-Kūfī. However, he was followed by the ḥāfiẓ Abū Bakr ibn Abī Shaybah, who said in "al-Muṣannaf" (12/95/12223): Abū Bakr ibn ʿAyyāsh narrated to us with it. It was also recorded by Ibn Khuzaymah (887), and Ibn Ḥibbān (2233- "al-Mawārid") through a third route from Ibn ʿAyyāsh with it. I say: The isnād is good. And it is authentic with its corroborations, one of which is from the narration of Shaddād ibn al-Hād in "Ṣifat al-Ṣalāh". *
