from the route of Ḥammād ibn Salamah: Thābit al-Bunānī narrated to us from Anas ibn Mālik that the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: ... and he mentioned it in full. and with the previously mentioned isnād of Muslim from Anas ibn Mālik who said: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: "I was brought, and they took me to Zamzam, then my chest was opened, and it was washed with the water of Zamzam, then it was filled with ... ". He was followed by Sharīk ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn Abī Namr who said: I heard Anas ibn Mālik narrating to us about the night the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) was taken on the Night Journey from the Mosque of the Kaʿbah: that three men came to him before revelation was sent to him, while he was sleeping in the Sacred Mosque ... and he narrated the ḥadīth with its story, similar to the ḥadīth of Thābit al-Bunānī; he presented some parts earlier and some later, and added and omitted parts. Narrated by al-Bukhārī (3570), Muslim, and Abū ʿAwānah (1/125-126 and 135-137) but he did not mention: "while he was sleeping" as an indication of the strangeness of this addition, which contradicts all the ḥadīths of the Night Journey and Ascension that indicate they were in wakefulness, not in sleep, and therefore the scholars counted them among his (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) miracles that Allāh favored him with over all creation. And among what confirms this; is the narration of Qatādah from Anas from Mālik ibn Ṣaʿṣaʿah that the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: "While I was between sleep and wakefulness; I heard a voice saying: one of the three between the two men, then I was brought a basin filled with wisdom and faith, and it was split from the throat to the lower part of the abdomen, then the heart was taken out; it was washed with the water of Zamzam, and filled with wisdom and faith. And I was brought a mount—smaller than a mule and larger than a donkey—white, called al-Burāq ... " and he mentioned the ḥadīth
