used to guide the way. This is mentioned in "Lisān al-ʿArab" by Abū ʿAmr ibn al-ʿAlāʾ.

- "Whoever says: I am content with Allāh as my Lord, with Islam as my religion, and with Muḥammad as my Messenger, Paradise is guaranteed for him." This was recorded by Abū Dāwūd (1529) through the chain of Abū al-Ḥusayn Zayd ibn al-Ḥabbāb, who narrated from ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Sharīḥ al-Iskandarānī: Abū Hānī al-Khawlānī told me that he heard Abū ʿAlī al-Janbī, who heard Abū Saʿīd al-Khudrī, that the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said it, and he mentioned it. I said: This isnād is good; its narrators are trustworthy according to the standards of Muslim, except for Abū ʿAlī al-Janbī, whose name is ʿAmr ibn Mālik al-Hamdānī, and he is trustworthy. The name of Abū Hānī al-Khawlānī is Ḥumayd ibn Hānī. There is another chain for the ḥadīth from Abū Saʿīd, narrated by Ibn Lahīʿah from Khālid ibn Abī ʿImrān from Abū ʿAbd al-Raḥmān al-Ḥubulī from him, who said: "The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) took my hand and said: O Abū Saʿīd! Three things, whoever says them, will enter Paradise. I asked: What are they, O Messenger of Allāh? He said: Whoever is content with Allāh as his Lord, with Islam as his religion, and with Muḥammad as his Messenger. Then he said: O Abū Saʿīd, and the fourth has a virtue as great as the distance between the heavens and the earth, and it is striving in the path of Allāh." This was recorded by Imām Aḥmad (3/14). I said: Its isnād is acceptable for supporting evidence and corroborations.
