It was recorded by Abū Yaʿlá, al-Bayhaqī, and others with a weak chain of narration. The statement of al-Mundhirī, followed by al-Haythamī: "Its narrators are the narrators of (the authentic collections)" is among their misconceptions, as I have clarified in "Ghayat al-Maram" (438); those who wish for details should refer to it.
أخرجه أبو يعلى (١) ، والبيهقي وغيرهما بسند ضعيف. وقول المنذري- ثم الهيثمي-:"رواته رواة (الصحيح) "!من أوهامهما؛ كما بينته في "غاية المرام " (٤٣٨) ؛ فليراجعه من شاء التفصيل.
"Two men came to me, took hold of my arms, and brought me to a rugged mountain, and they said: Ascend. I said: I am unable to do so. They said: We will make it easy for you. So I ascended until I was at the middle of the mountain; there I heard loud voices, and I said: What are these voices? They said: This is the howling of the inhabitants of the Fire. Then they took me on, and I saw people hanging by their heels, their mouths torn, and their mouths were bleeding. I said: Who are these? They said: These are the ones who break their fast before it is permissible. He said: The Jews and Christians have failed - then Sulaymān said: I do not know if Abū Umāmah heard this from the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam), or if it is something from his own opinion. Then they took me on, and I saw people who were extremely swollen, with the foulest smell, and the blackest appearance. I said: Who are these? They said: These are the slain disbelievers. Then they took me on, and I saw people who were extremely swollen, with the foulest smell, as if their smell was that of toilets. I said: Who are these? They said: These are the adulterers and adulteresses
(أَتاني رجُلان، فأَخذاَ بضَبعَيَّ، فأَتيَا بي جَبَلاً وعراً، فقالا: اصعد. فقلتُ: إنِّي لا أُطِيقُه. فقالا: إنّا سنُسهّله لك. فصعِدتُ حتّى إذا كنتُ في سَواءِ الجبَل؛ إذا أنا بأصواتٍ شديدةٍ، قلتُ: ما هذه الأصواتُ؟ قالوا: هذا عُواء أهلِ النّارِ. ثم انطلقَا بي؛ فإذا أنا بقوم معلَّّقينَ بعَراقِيبهم، مشقّقة أشداقُهم، تسيلُ أشداقُهم دماً، قال، قلتُ: من هؤلاء؟ قال: هؤلاء الذين يفطرون قبل تَحِلَّةِ صومِهم. فقال: خابتِ اليهودُ والنّصارى- فقال سليمان (٢) : ماأدري أسمعه أبو أمامة من رسول الله ﷺ، أم شيءٌ من رأيه؟! -. ثمّ انطلقا [بي] ؛فإذا بقومٍ أشدَّ شيءٍ انتفاخاً، وأنتنِهِ ريحاً، وأسودِهِ منطَراً، فقلت: من هؤلاء؟ فقال: هؤلاءِ قتلَى الكفار. ثم انطلقا بي، فإذا بقوم أشدَّ شيءٍ انتفاخاً، وأنتنِهِ ريحاً، كأن ريحَهم المراحيضُ، قلتُ: من هؤلاء؟ قال: هؤلاء الزّانُون والزّواني.
