as for the ḥadīth of Abū Hurayrah; there are several chains from him: 1- Saʿīd ibn al-Musayyib: It was narrated by al-Bukhārī (2929), Muslim (8/184), Abū Dāwūd (4304), al-Tirmidhī (2215), Ibn Ḥibbān (6746), al-Ḥumaydī (1100), Abū Yaʿlá (5878), and ʿAbd al-Razzāq (20781), and from him by Aḥmad (2/271), and Ibn Mājah (4096) through two chains from al-Zuhrī from him. 2- Hammām ibn Munabbih: It was narrated by ʿAbd al-Razzāq in "al-Muṣannaf" (20782), and from him by Aḥmad (2/319 and 530), and through his chain: al-Bukhārī (3578) through the chain of Maʿmar from him. 3- al-Aʿraj: It was narrated by al-Bukhārī (2928 and 3578), Muslim (8/184), Ibn Mājah (4097), Aḥmad (2/530), and Abū ʿAmr al-Dānī in "al-Sunan al-Wāridah fī al-Fitan" (452) through the chain of Abū al-Zinād from him. 4- Qays ibn Abī Ḥāzim: It was narrated by al-Bukhārī (3591) - and this is his wording -, Muslim (8/184), Aḥmad (2/300 and 475), and Abū ʿAmr al-Dānī (450) through the chain of Ismāʿīl ibn Abī Khālid from him, who said: We came to Abū Hurayrah (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhu) and he said: I accompanied the Messenger (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) for three years, during which I was never more eager to retain the ḥadīth than I was then.
