al-Ṭabarānī said: "No one transmitted it with this isnād except ʿAbd al-Raḥīm ibn Sulaymān; Yūsuf was unique in this." I said: Both of them are trustworthy narrators from the men of al-Bukhārī, as are the rest of the narrators, so the ḥadīth has a sound isnād. Al-Haythamī said (5/33): "It was narrated by al-Ṭabarānī in 'al-Kabīr' and 'al-Awsaṭ,' and its narrators are the narrators of the authentic collections." There is a clear objection to the aforementioned negation by al-Ṭabarānī, as it was also narrated by al-Ḥākim (4/231 and 233) through the route of ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn al-Mubārak, who reported from Ḥammād ibn Zayd from ʿĀṣim with it, and its wording is: "Do you want to kill it multiple deaths? Why didn't you sharpen your knife before laying it down?" al-Ḥākim said: "It is authentic according to the criteria of al-Bukhārī," and al-Dhahabī agreed with him. And he said in another place, "according to the criteria of the two Shaykhs."

- "Who has distressed this one by taking its offspring? Return its offspring to it." It was narrated by al-Bukhārī in "al-Adab al-Mufrad" (no. 382), Abū Dāwūd (no. 2675), and al-Ḥākim (4/239) from ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn ʿAbd Allāh from his father who said: "We were with the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) on a journey, and he went off for a need. We saw a bird with two chicks, and we took its chicks. The bird came and began to flutter, so the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) came and said:" and he mentioned it. The context is from Abū Dāwūd, who added: "And he saw an ant colony that we had burned, and he said: Who burned this? We said: We did. He said: It is not appropriate to punish with fire except the Lord of the fire."
