He said in "al-Awsaṭ" also (2/126/1466): Aḥmad narrated to us, saying: Yaḥyá ibn Muḥammad ibn al-Sakan narrated to us, saying: Muḥammad ibn Jahḍam narrated to us, saying: Ismāʿīl ibn Jaʿfar narrated from ʿUmārah ibn Ghaziyyah with it, and he added at the end: "over His creation." This isnād is authentic; all its men are trustworthy from the men of "al-Tahdhīb," except for this Aḥmad—he is Ibn Muḥammad ibn Ṣadaqah—one of the shaykhs of al-Ṭabarānī from whom he narrated extensively, and he is a precise ḥāfiẓ. From this extraction, it becomes clear to the researcher the shortcoming of al-Haythamī in extracting the ḥadīth and judging it by saying (1/332): "Aḥmad narrated it, and al-Ṭabarānī in 'al-Awsaṭ,' and in it is Ibn Lahīʿah, and in it is weakness, and al-Ṭabarānī said in it: So ask Allāh ﷿ to grant me al-Wasīlah over His creation"!! He implied that the isnād of al-Ṭabarānī with this last wording also includes Ibn Lahīʿah! But it is not so, as we have explained. The ḥadīth has a corroborating narration from ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿAmr that is more complete than it.
