- "Indeed, Gabriel used to review the Quran with me once every year, but this year he reviewed it with me twice. I do not see this except as a sign that my time has come. You will be the first of my family to join me. [So fear Allāh and be patient; for I am a good predecessor for you]." It was recorded by al-Bukhārī (3624, 6285, 6286), Muslim (7/143), al-Nasāʾī in "al-Kubrā" (8368), Ibn Mājah (1621), al-Ṭaḥāwī in "Mushkil al-Āthār" (1/48-49), Ibn Saʿd (2/247-248, 8/27), Aḥmad (6/282), Abū Nuʿaym in "al-Ḥilyah" (2/40), and al-Bayhaqī in "Dalāʾil al-Nubuwwah" (7/155). They all narrated it from ʿĀʾishah about Fāṭimah (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhā), and the context is from al-Bukhārī in another place, with the addition from the first place, as well as narrated by al-Ṭaḥāwī and Abū Nuʿaym. *

- "Indeed, it is a right upon Allāh that He does not elevate anything from this world except that He lowers it." It was recorded by al-Bukhārī (6501), Ibn Ḥibbān (701), al-Nasāʾī (2/122), Abū Dāwūd (4802), al-Bayhaqī in "al-Shuʿab" (7/341/10510), and Aḥmad (3/103) from the ḥadīth of Anas who said: The Prophet's (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) she-camel named al-ʿUḍbāʾ was never beaten in a race. Then a Bedouin came on his camel and outran it, which distressed the Muslims. They said: al-ʿUḍbāʾ has been beaten! The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: ... and he mentioned it. Then al-Bayhaqī narrated it (10511) through the path of Abū Bakr ibn Abī Uways from Sulaymān ibn Bilāl who said: Yaḥyā told me: Ibn Shihāb informed me saying: I heard Saʿīd ibn al-Musayyib say: ... and he mentioned the story, and the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said:
