"it was narrated by no one from Abū ʿAwānah except Shaybān." I said: Both are reliable; Abū ʿAwānah is al-Waḍḍāḥ al-Yashkurī, a trustworthy and established narrator from the two Shaykhs [al-Bukhārī and Muslim]. And Shaybān ibn Farrūkh is among the narrators of Muslim, and there is some discussion about him, but his ḥadīth does not fall below the level of ḥasan. Therefore, al-Ḥāfiẓ said: "Truthful, but makes mistakes." As for the rest of the narrators, they are trustworthy: Huzayl ibn Sharḥabīl is a trustworthy narrator from al-Bukhārī's collection. As for Abū Miskīn, he is Ḥurr ibn Miskīn; Ibn Maʿīn said: "Trustworthy." Abū Ḥātim said: "There is no harm in him." Ibn Ḥibbān mentioned him in "al-Thiqāt" (6/239). His status was unclear to al-Ḥāfiẓ, so he only mentioned in his biography in "al-Tahdhīb" what Ibn Ḥibbān mentioned, missing that a group of trustworthy narrators transmitted from him, and the authentication by Ibn Maʿīn and Abū Ḥātim! Therefore, he said in "al-Taqrīb": "Acceptable." So take note. As for Ibrāhīm, the Shaykh of al-Ṭabarānī, he is Ibrāhīm ibn Aḥmad ibn ʿUmar al-Wakīʿī, authenticated by al-Dāraquṭnī as mentioned in "Tārīkh Baghdād."
