Secondly: In "Mukhtaṣar Tafsīr Ibn Kathīr" by Shaykh Nasīb al-Rifāʿī, may Allāh have mercy on him, it states (3/421): "Al-Ḥāfiẓ Abū Bakr al-Bazzār narrated from Jābir or from a man who said to the Prophet..." This is a strange confusion whose error is obvious, and there is no need to explain it. Thirdly: The statement of his fellow countryman Shaykh al-Ṣābūnī in his "Mukhtaṣar" (3/38): "Al-Ḥāfiẓ Abū Bakr al-Bazzār narrated: A man said..." Due to his ignorance of this noble knowledge, when he saw the aforementioned discrepancy in the original—meaning: "Tafsīr Ibn Kathīr"—he could not abbreviate it with a phrase like: "... from Abū Hurayrah or Jābir." And if it had been from one of them, he would have abbreviated it from him and printed it in the commentary, misleading readers into thinking it was his own extraction, claiming what he had not been given; (a trait we recognize from Akhzam)! And Allāh is the one whose help is sought. *

(He left two or three coins! This was said about someone who died leaving two or three dinars). It was recorded by Ibn Abī Shaybah in "al-Muṣannaf" (3/372): ʿAbd Allāh ibn Numayr narrated to us: Fuḍayl ibn Ghazwān narrated from Abū Ḥāzim from Abū Hurayrah who said: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) was brought the funeral of a man from the Anṣār, so he prayed over him, then said: "What did he leave?" They said: He left two or three dinars, he said: ... and he mentioned it. It was also recorded by Aḥmad (2/429): Yaḥyá ibn Saʿīd narrated to us from Fuḍayl ibn Ghazwān with it; it does not include: from the Anṣār
