and al-Haythamī said in "al-Majmaʿ" (6/269): "It was narrated by al-Ṭabarānī in 'al-Awsaṭ' and 'al-Kabīr' and by al-Bazzār, and the men of al-Ṭabarānī are the men of the authentic collections, except for ʿAbd al-Wahhāb ibn Bakht, who is trustworthy." I say: Abū ʿAbd al-Raḥīm's name is Khālid ibn Abī Yazīd ibn Samāk ibn Rustam al-Umawī, their client from Ḥarrān. Then al-Nasāʾī narrated it through the route of Muḥammad ibn Wahb ibn Abī Karīmah al-Ḥarrānī from Muḥammad ibn Salamah from Abū ʿAbd al-Raḥīm, who said: ʿAbd al-Raḥīm al-Zuhrī narrated to me from ʿAṭāʾ ibn Abī Rabāḥ with it. Thus, ʿAbd al-Raḥīm al-Zuhrī was placed instead of ʿAbd al-Wahhāb ibn Bakht. This Muḥammad ibn Wahb is truthful, and his narration is supported by two corroborations: the first is what is with al-Nasāʾī from Saʿīd ibn Ḥafṣ, who said: Mūsá ibn Aʿyan narrated to us from Khālid ibn Abī Yazīd Abū ʿAbd al-Raḥīm from al-Zuhrī from ʿAṭāʾ with it. The other is what is with Abū Nuʿaym from Yazīd ibn Sinān from ʿAbd al-Raḥīm ibn ʿAṭāf ibn Ṣafwān al-Zuhrī from ʿAṭāʾ with it. However, in the first corroboration's route, Saʿīd ibn Ḥafṣ is Abū ʿAmr al-Ḥarrānī, who is truthful but changed towards the end of his life. In the other, Yazīd ibn Sinān is Abū Furwah al-Rahāwī, who is weak, and also, we did not find among the narrators "ʿAbd al-Raḥīm al-Zuhrī," let alone "ʿAbd al-Raḥīm ibn ʿAṭāf ibn Ṣafwān al-Zuhrī," nor did they mention him among the teachers of Abū ʿAbd al-Raḥīm al-Zuhrī, who, when mentioned without qualification, is the imam Muḥammad ibn Muslim ibn Shihāb. This all makes the narration of Muḥammad ibn Wahb less favored due to its contradiction with the two routes from Muḥammad ibn Salamah, one from Isḥāq ibn Rāhwayh and the other from Abū al-Aṣbagh ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz ibn Yaḥyá al-Ḥarrānī, who is truthful but sometimes errs.
