It was recorded by Muslim (8/13), and al-Bukhārī in "al-Adab al-Mufrad" (no. 517) and others from the ḥadīth of Abū Hurayrah as well. Then I saw that al-Ḥākim also recorded the ḥadīth from the first source in another place (2/491) with the addition: Then Abū Hurayrah recited the words of Allāh: "If you lend to Allāh a good loan, He will multiply it for you." Both he and al-Dhahabī authenticated it, as previously mentioned. *

(Three whom Allāh loves, smiles upon, and is pleased with: the one who, when a group retreats, fights behind them with his own self for Allāh, and either he is killed or Allāh grants him victory and suffices him, and Allāh says: Look at My servant, how he has offered himself for Me! The one who has a beautiful wife and a comfortable, soft bed, yet rises in the night, and [it is said:] he forsakes his desire, remembers Me, and converses with Me, though he could have slept! And the one who is on a journey, with a group, who stay up late and become weary, then sleep, but he rises in the last part of the night, whether in ease or hardship). It was recorded by al-Ḥākim (1/25), and al-Bayhaqī in "al-Asmāʾ wa-al-Ṣifāt" (pp. 471–472) — and the context is his — through the route of Fuḍayl ibn Sulaymān: Mūsá ibn ʿUqbah narrated to me: ʿUbayd Allāh ibn Salmān narrated from his father from Abū al-Dardāʾ from the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) who said: ... and he mentioned it. Al-Ḥākim said: "A ṣaḥīḥ ḥadīth, and they have relied upon all its narrators!" Thus he said! And al-Dhahabī left it unannotated. ʿUbayd Allāh ibn Salmān — who is al-Agharr — was not recorded by Muslim at all. Fuḍayl ibn Sulaymān — who is al-Numayrī — was only recorded by al-Bukhārī as a follow-up; as verified by al-Ḥāfiẓ in "Muqaddimah al-Fatḥ" (435), and there is much discussion about him, summarized by al-Ḥāfiẓ in "al-Taqrīb" as: "Truthful, but makes many mistakes." Thus, his ḥadīth is eligible for improvement, but not for authenticity! Al-Mundhirī said in "al-Targhīb" (1/219/32): "It was narrated by al-Ṭabarānī in 'al-Kabīr' with a good isnād!" Al-Haythamī said (2/255): "I said: Abū Dāwūd narrated from it: 'the one who was in a detachment' — only — narrated by al-Ṭabarānī, and its men are the men of (the ṣaḥīḥ)!" I said: What he attributed to Abū Dāwūd suggests it is from him from the ḥadīth of Abū al-Dardāʾ, but it is actually from the ḥadīth of Ibn Masʿūd! And it was narrated by others in a more complete form, and it is from the narration of Ḥammād ibn Salamah from ʿAṭāʾ ibn al-Sāʾib from Murrah al-Hamdānī from ʿAbd Allāh ibn Masʿūd (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhu): that the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: "Our Lord marvels at two men: a man who rises from his bed and blanket, from among his loved ones and family to his prayer; and Allāh, the Glorious and Exalted, says: Look at My servant, he rises from his bed and blanket from among..
(ثلاثةٌ يحبُّهم اللهُ ﷿، ويضحكُ إليهم، ويستبشرُ بهم: الذي إذا انكَشَفتْ فئةٌ؛ قاتلَ وراءَها بنفسِه لله ﷿، فإمّا أنْ يُقتلَ، وإمّا أن يَنصُرَه اللهُ ويكفِيَه، فيقولُ اللهُ: انظرُوا إلى عبدِي كيف صَبَرَ لي نفسَه؟! والذي له امرأة حسناء، وفراش لين حسن، فيقوم من الليل، فـ[يقول:] يذر شهوتَه، فيذكُرني ويناجيني، ولو شاءَ رقَدَ! والذِي يكونُ في سَفَرٍ، وكانَ معَه ركْبٌ؛ فسهِرُوا ونصِبُوا ثمّهَجَعُوا، فقامَ من السّحرِ في سرّاءَ أو ضرّاءَ). أخرجه الحاكم (١/٢٥)، والبيهقي في «الأسماء والصفات» (ص ٤٧١ ـ٤٧٢) ـ والسياق له ـ من طريق فُضَيل بن سليمان: نا موسى بن عقبة: حدثني عبيد الله بن سلمان عن أبيه عن أبي الدرداء عن النبي ﷺ قال: ... فذكره. وقال الحاكم: «حديث صحيح، وقد احتجا بجميع رواته» ! كذا قال! وبيض له الذهبي. وعبيد الله بن سلمان ـ وهو الأغر ـ لم يخرج له مسلم إطلاقاً. وفضيل بن سليمان ـ وهو النُّميري ـ إنما خرج له البخاري متابعة؛ كما حققه الحافظ في «مقدمة الفتح» (٤٣٥)، وفيه كلام كثير، لخصه الحافظ في «التقريب» فقال: «صدوق، له خطأ كثير». فمثله حديثه مرشح للتحسين، وأما الصحة فلا! وقد قال المنذري في «الترغيب» (١/٢١٩/٣٢): «رواه الطبراني في «الكبير» بإسناد حسن» ! وقال الهيثمي (٢/٢٥٥): «قلت: روى أبو داود منه: «الذي كان في سرية» ـ فقط ـ رواه الطبراني، ورجاله رجال (الصحيح) » ! قلت: وما عزاه لأبي داود يوهم أنه عنده من حديث أبي الدرداء، وإنما هو من حديث ابن مسعود ﵁! وقد رواه غيره بأتم منه، وهو من رواية حماد بن سلمة عن عطاء بن السائب عن مرة الهمداني عن عبد الله بن مسعود رضي الله عنه: أن رسول الله ﷺ قال: «عجب ربنا من رجلين: رجل ثار عن وطائه ولحافه، من بين حِبِّه وأهله إلى صلاته؛ فيقول الله جل وعلا: انظروا إلى عبدي، ثار من فراشه ووطائه من بين
