Ibn Munabbih: ʿAbd al-Ṣamad—meaning: ibn Maʿqil—narrated to me, saying: I heard Wahb say: al-Nuʿmān ibn Bashīr narrated to me that he heard the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) mention al-Raqīm and said: ... and he mentioned it. And from this Ismāʿīl: it was recorded by al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Muʿjam al-Kabīr" (25/284/410), and also in "al-Duʿāʾ" (2/866/190). It is a good, connected chain of narration, continuously transmitted. Then he recorded it in "al-Duʿāʾ" and "al-Muʿjam al-Awsaṭ" (3/160-162/2328 and 2329) through other chains from Wahb ibn Munabbih; it is authentic, for Wahb is a trustworthy narrator from the two Shaykhs. Al-Bazzār also recorded it (4/52-54/3178-3180) through other chains from al-Nuʿmān ibn Bashīr with a similar narration. Al-Haythamī said about the ḥadīth (8/142): "It was narrated by Aḥmad, al-Ṭabarānī in 'al-Awsaṭ' and 'al-Kabīr', and al-Bazzār with similar narrations through various chains, and the men of Aḥmad are trustworthy." Then he recorded it from the narration of Anas, Abū Hurayrah, and ʿAlī (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhum) with similar wording. The ḥadīth of ʿAlī was also recorded by al-Bazzār (2/1867) and its chain is good. It is in "al-Ṣaḥīḥayn" and others from the narration of ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿUmar with a similar narration. I preferred to cite it here from the narration of al-Nuʿmān ibn Bashīr (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhu) because it contains details of some matters not mentioned elsewhere, with a sound chain of narration, and Allāh, the Exalted, is the source of success. *
