It was recorded by al-Nasāʾī in "al-Kubrā" (6/362/11236), Abū Yaʿlá in "Musnad" (10/495/6110), and through his route by Ibn Ḥibbān (2508), al-Ṭabarī in "Tafsīr" (11/92 - al-Amīriyyah), Ibn Abī al-Dunyā in "al-Ikhwān" (45/5), and al-Bayhaqī in "al-Shuʿab" (6/485/8997) from various routes from Muḥammad ibn Fuḍayl from his father from ʿUmārah ibn al-Qaʿqāʿ from Abū Zurʿah from him. I said: Its isnād is authentic according to the criteria of the two Shaykhs, and al-Bayhaqī pointed out a flaw that does not undermine it. Among them: from Abū Mālik al-Ashʿarī; narrated by ʿAbd al-Ḥamīd ibn Bahrām from Shahr ibn Ḥawshab: ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Ghanm narrated from him. It was recorded by Aḥmad (5/343), al-Bayhaqī in "al-Shuʿab" (6/486/9001) and "al-Asmāʾ wa-al-Ṣifāt" (p. 467), al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Muʿjam al-Kabīr" (3/329/3433), al-Baghawī in "Tafsīr" (4/139-140) and "Sharḥ al-Sunnah" (13/50/3464), all of them through the route of ʿAbd al-Razzāq, and this is in "al-Muṣannaf" (11/201-202/20324) from Maʿmar, and ʿAbd Allāh ibn al-Mubārak in "al-Zuhd" (248/714), and also Ibn Abī al-Dunyā (6) from ʿAlī ibn al-Jaʿd; all three (Maʿmar, Ibn al-Mubārak, and Ibn al-Jaʿd) from Shahr. I said: This isnād is good in supporting evidence; due to the poor memory of Shahr ibn Ḥawshab. al-Mundhirī was lenient and said in "al-Targhīb" (4/48/22): "It was narrated by Aḥmad, and Abū Yaʿlá with a good isnād, and al-Ḥākim, who said: authentic isnād"! Attributing it to al-Ḥākim is an oversight or another leniency; for he did not narrate it from Abū Mālik; rather, from Ibn ʿUmar; as previously mentioned. *
