It was recorded by Aḥmad (13/12 and 44) through two chains; in the first of them, there is a break between Yaḥyá ibn Abī Kathīr and Abū Rafāʿah, and Abū Rafāʿah is unknown, and it is said: Rafāʿah. In the other chain: ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Zayd ibn Aslam; and he is abandoned. The part about the sip has many supporting narrations, including the ḥadīth of ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿAmr with Ibn Ḥibbān (883) with a good chain, and I have summarized it in "al-Ḍaʿīfah" under ḥadīth (1405). Thus, the statement of al-Mundhirī regarding the ḥadīth of Abū Saʿīd (2/94/10): "It was narrated by Aḥmad, and its chain is strong!" is refuted; and it was also refuted by al-Nājī as I have quoted from him in "Ṣaḥīḥ al-Targhīb," but he missed the defect in the first chain.

- "May knowledge be blessed for you, Abū al-Mundhir! By the One in whose hand is my soul; indeed, it has a tongue and two lips that sanctify the Sovereign at the foot of the Throne. He means: Āyat al-Kursī." It was recorded by ʿAbd al-Razzāq in "al-Muṣannaf" (3/370/6001): Sufyān informed us from Saʿīd al-Jurayrī from Abū al-Salīl from ʿAbd Allāh ibn Rabāḥ from Ubayy ibn Kaʿb that the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: "Which verse in the Book of Allāh is the greatest?" He replied: Allāh and His Messenger know best! He repeated it several times, then Ubayy said: Āyat al-Kursī, so the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: ... and he mentioned it. Through the route of ʿAbd al-Razzāq: it was recorded by Aḥmad (5/141-142), and Ibn al-Ḍurays in "Faḍāʾil al-Qurʾān" (90/186). And it was followed by Ibn Abī Shaybah: ʿAbd al-Aʿlá ibn ʿAbd al-Aʿlá narrated from al-Jurayrī with it in its entirety
