as it aligns with the narration of Aḥmad (4/239-240) which al-Mundhirī referred to, and similarly the narration of Ibn Ḥibbān (48/79) from the route of ʿĀṣim from Zur from Ṣafwān with a similar meaning. ʿAbd al-Wahhāb ibn Bakht also followed him from Zur with a similar meaning. It was recorded by al-Ḥākim, who authenticated it, and al-Dhahabī agreed with him. The story of the timing for wiping over the leather socks is well-known in "al-Sunan" from the route of ʿĀṣim, and it is extracted in "al-Irwāʾ" (1/140-141). Then regarding the ḥadīth, al-Haythamī said in "al-Majmaʿ" (1/131): "It was narrated by al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Kabīr", and its men are the men of (al-Ṣaḥīḥ)". And in the advice to the seeker of knowledge and welcoming him, there is another ḥadīth similar to this from the ḥadīth of Abū Saʿīd al-Khudrī, its extraction was mentioned under number (280).

(Whoever performs ablution and perfects it, then stands and prays two rakʿahs—or four; Sahl was uncertain—perfecting therein remembrance and humility, then seeks forgiveness from Allāh; he will be forgiven) It was recorded by Aḥmad in "al-Musnad" (6/450): Thana Aḥmad ibn ʿAbd al-Malik: Sahl ibn Abī Ṣadaqah told me: Kathīr ibn al-Faḍl al-Ṭafāwī told me: Yūsuf ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn Salām told me: I came to Abū al-Dardāʾ during his illness in which he passed away, and he said to me: O son of my brother! What brings you to this town, or what brought you? He said: I said: Nothing but to maintain the ties that were between you and my father ʿAbd Allāh ibn Salām. Abū al-Dardāʾ said: What a bad time for lying this is, I heard the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) say: ... and he mentioned it
