and it is strange that neither of them pointed out that he is paired with another narrator in al-Bukhārī, although their source "Tahdhīb al-Kamāl" by al-Ḥāfiẓ al-Mizzī explicitly states this. In fact, al-Ḥāfiẓ himself mentioned it in "Muqaddimah al-Fatḥ," and he even indicated that he has only one ḥadīth in "al-Ṣaḥīḥ." He said after mentioning the statements of the imams about him (p. 412): "I say: he has one ḥadīth in 'al-Ṣaḥīḥ' in the 'Tafsīr of Sūrat al-Baqarah' with the corroboration of Yūnus from al-Ḥasan al-Baṣrī from Maʿqil ibn Yasār." I said: and his statement at the end of the ḥadīth: so some of the people said... perhaps it was ʿĀʾishah, for al-Bazzār narrated (1/410/868) from her that she said: I said: O Messenger of Allāh!
