ʿAbd al-Raḥmān from Khawlah bint Yamān said: "I said: O Messenger of Allāh, I menstruate, and I have only one garment, and it gets stained with blood. He said: Wash it and pray in it. I said: O Messenger of Allāh, the stain remains. He said: It does not harm." And he said: "Ibrāhīm al-Ḥarbī said: al-Wāziʿ ibn Nāfiʿ is less reliable than others, and he did not hear from Khawlah bint Yamān or Yasār except in these two ḥadīths." It was also recorded by Ibn Mandah in "al-Maʿrifah" (2/321/2) and Ibn Sayyid al-Nās in "Sharḥ al-Tirmidhī" (1/48/2) through the route of ʿUthmān ibn Abī Shaybah, narrated to us by ʿAlī ibn Thābit al-Jazarī with it, except that the first of them said "Khawlah" without attributing her, and the other said: "Khawlah bint Ḥakīm" and it is with him from the route of al-Ṭabarānī from Ibn Abī Shaybah. Likewise, it was mentioned by al-Haythamī in "al-Majmaʿ" (1/282) from the narration of al-Ṭabarānī in al-Kabīr and he said: "And in it is al-Wāziʿ ibn Nāfiʿ and he is weak." I said: Rather, he is abandoned and severely weak, mentioned by al-Dhahabī in "al-Ḍuʿafāʾ" and he said: "Aḥmad and Yaḥyá said: He is not trustworthy." Therefore, Ibn al-Turkumanī criticized al-Bayhaqī for omitting such criticism and limiting it to the words of Ibrāhīm al-Ḥarbī, which imply by their apparent meaning that he is trustworthy but others are more reliable than him! While he is not trustworthy. Perhaps his statement in al-Bayhaqī's narration "bint Yamān," and his statement "bint Ḥakīm" in al-Ṭabarānī's and others' narration, is from this al-Wāziʿ.
