"They are lying! Now the fighting has come. There will always be a group from my nation standing upon the truth, apparent to the people. Allāh will cause the hearts of some people to deviate, and they will fight them to achieve something from them." And he said, while turning his back to Yemen: ... then he mentioned the ḥadīth and added: "And it has been revealed to me that I will be taken soon, and you will follow me in groups, and goodness is tied to the forelocks of horses until the Day of Resurrection, and their owners are supported in this." I said: Its isnād is authentic from the first path through al-Walīd ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān, who is trustworthy among the men of Muslim. In the other path, Bakr ibn Sahl is mentioned; he is weak. And the teacher of ʿAbd Allāh ibn Ṣāliḥ al-Ḥimṣī I did not know! Then it became clear that his father's name was distorted, the correct name is (Sālim), as I saw al-Bayhaqī had reported the ḥadīth in "al-Asmāʾ wa-al-Ṣifāt" (pp. 462-463) through the path of Muḥammad ibn Isḥāq al-Ṣāghānī: ʾanā ʿAbd Allāh ibn Yūsuf: ʾanā ʿAbd Allāh ibn Sālim al-Ḥimṣī: thana Ibrāhīm ibn Sulaymān al-Afṭas with it. I said: So it is also an authentic isnād; because ʿAbd Allāh ibn Sālim al-Ḥimṣī—who is al-Ashʿarī—is unanimously trustworthy and among the men of al-Bukhārī. And among the misguidance of Shaykh al-Kawtharī, his enmity towards the sunnah and the ḥadīths of attributes, and his misleading of the readers: his comment in the margin of "al-Asmāʾ" on this Ibn Sālim by saying: "Abū Dāwūd used to criticize him"!
