from the signs of his prophethood (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam)

- "A time will come upon people; their hearts will be like the hearts of non-Arabs; love of the world, their practice will be like the practice of the Bedouins, whatever provision comes to them they will spend it on animals, they will see jihād as harmful, and zakāh as a loss." It was narrated by al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Muʿjam al-Kabīr" (13/36/82) through the route of Hishām ibn ʿAmmār who said: Baqiyyah ibn al-Walīd narrated to us, who said: Khālid ibn Ḥumayd al-Mahrī narrated to us, who said: Ḥumayd ibn Hānīʾ al-Khūlānī narrated to us from Abū ʿAbd al-Raḥmān from ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿAmr who said: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: ... and he mentioned it. I say: This isnād is good, its men are trustworthy, the men of the authentic collections; except for Khālid ibn Ḥumayd al-Mahrī, about whom Abū Ḥātim said: "There is no harm in him." Ibn Ḥibbān mentioned him in "al-Thiqāt" (8/221). And Baqiyyah is only feared for his tadlīs; but he has explicitly stated hearing as you see. This was not apparent to al-Haythamī, who said in "al-Majmaʿ" (3/65): "It was narrated by al-Ṭabarānī in 'al-Kabīr', and it contains Baqiyyah ibn al-Walīd who is trustworthy; but he is a mudallis, and the rest of its men are reliable"! Khālid ibn Ḥumayd was contradicted in his isnād, as Ibn Lahīʿah said: Ḥumayd ibn Hānīʾ narrated to me from Shafīʿ from ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿAmr with it marfūʿ. So he made Shafīʿ in place of: Abū ʿAbd al-Raḥmān - who is ʿAbd Allāh ibn Yazīd al-Maʿāfirī - and both are trustworthy
