"authentic according to the criteria of al-Shaykhayn." Al-Dhahabī agreed with him. This, and Muḥammad ibn Sawwāʾ was followed in some of his ḥadīth by ʿAbd al-Wahhāb ibn ʿAṭāʾ al-Khuffāf from Saʿīd from Qatādah: Anas ibn Mālik narrated to us with it; except for his statement: then the hypocrites began... etc. It was recorded by Muslim (7/151), Aḥmad (3/234), and Abū Yaʿlá (5/329/2953). Ḥasan ibn Sufyān was also followed, as Ibn Abī ʿĀṣim said in "al-Sunnah" (1/247/561): Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān al-ʿAllāf narrated to us... with the phrase: "the Throne of the Most Merciful shook." Al-ʿAllāf himself was followed by Muḥammad ibn Thaʿlabah ibn Sawwāʾ: my uncle Muḥammad ibn Sawwāʾ narrated to us: Saʿīd narrated with it similar to the narration of ʿAbd al-Wahhāb al-Khuffāf. It was recorded by al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Muʿjam al-Kabīr" (6/14/5342) from two paths from him. He is truthful; as in "al-Taqrīb." I said: And in all these paths and follow-ups; (Saʿīd) occurred in them, contrary to the narration of Ibn Ḥibbān which contains: (Shuʿbah), which confirms its error, as previously noted. The commentator on "al-Iḥsān" overlooked this, passing over it without any comment, despite having transmitted the narration of Aḥmad and Muslim from al-Khuffāf, and the narration of al-Ṭabarānī from Ibn Thaʿlabah, missing the narration of Ibn Abī ʿĀṣim, and in all of them: (Saʿīd), so he did not notice the error of the narration of Ibn Ḥibbān, and the one protected is the one whom Allāh protects. Then indeed the phrase (the shaking of the Throne) has many supporting narrations from a group of Companions, as al-Ḥāfiẓ said (7/124):
