- (This is Sālim, the freed slave of Abū Ḥudhayfah, all praise is due to Allāh who has made in my nation someone like this). It was recorded by Ibn Mājah (1338) - and the context is his -, Ibn Naṣr in "Qiyām al-Layl" (p. 55), Aḥmad (6/165), Abū Nuʿaym in "al-Ḥilyah" (1/371), and al-Ḥākim (3/325) through two chains from Ḥanẓalah ibn Abī Sufyān: that he heard ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Ṣābiṭ al-Jumaḥī narrating from ʿĀʾishah, the wife of the Prophet ﷺ, who said: I was late one night after the ʿIshāʾ prayer during the time of the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ, then I came and he said: "Where were you?" I said: I was listening to the recitation of a man from your companions, I have not heard a recitation and voice like his from anyone, she said: So he stood and I stood with him until he listened to him, then he turned to me and said: ... and he mentioned it. Al-Ḥākim said: "Authentic according to the criteria of the two Shaykhs!" and al-Dhahabī agreed with him! Thus they both said! And there are two issues: the first is that ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Ṣābiṭ was not recorded by al-Bukhārī. The second is that I did not find anyone who explicitly stated that Ibn Ṣābiṭ heard from ʿĀʾishah ﵂, and he has narrated from many Companions, and Muslim narrated from him from ʿĀʾishah a single ḥadīth with an intermediary - as al-Khazrajī said in "al-Khulāṣah" -; thus there is a suspicion of disconnection. And it is as if for this reason al-Ḥāfiẓ al-ʿIrāqī said in "Takhrīj al-Iḥyāʾ" - after attributing it to Ibn Mājah -:
