that he was unique in this, so ʿAbd Allāh ibn Aḥmad said in "Zawāʾid al-Musnad" (1/123): I found in my father's book that he said: I was informed about Sinān ibn Hārūn: Bayān narrated to us from ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Abī Laylá from ʿAlī ibn Abī Ṭālib (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhu) who said: When the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) would bow, if a cup of water were placed on his back, it would not spill. Al-Dāraqutnī mentioned it in "al-ʿIlal" (3/275-276) from this narration of Aḥmad, then said: "Salm ibn Salām Abū al-Musayyib al-Wāsiṭī disagreed with them, for he narrated it from Sinān ibn Hārūn from Bayān from Ibn Abī Laylā from al-Barāʾ. And this is closer to being correct." Then he provided its isnād from two paths from Muṣʿab ibn ʿAbd Allāh al-Wāsiṭī—his nickname is Shaykhān: Salm ibn Salām narrated to us: Sinān ibn Hārūn narrated to us from Bayān from Ibn Abī Laylā from al-Barāʾ with that. It was also extracted by Baḥshal in "Tārīkh Wāsiṭ" (247) who said: Muṣʿab ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn Muṣʿab narrated it to us with it. I said: And this isnād is good, Muṣʿab was deemed reliable by Ibn Ḥibbān (9/175); he is one of his shaykhs, and a group of other trustworthy narrators also narrated from him, as I have established in "Taysīr al-Intifāʿ." Salm ibn Salām is known as Abū al-Musayyib al-Wāsiṭī, and a large group narrated from him, named by al-Ḥāfiẓ al-Mizzī in "al-Tahdhīb," among them are a group of trustworthy narrators, so he meets the criteria of Ibn Ḥibbān; I do not know why he did not include him in "al-Thiqāt"?! Al-Ḥāfiẓ said about him: "Acceptable"! In my opinion, he should have said: "Truthful," as we understand from their evaluations and many of our experiences with their statements in some biographies
