thus he is moderate, and al-Dhahabī indicated this by saying in "al-Kāshif": "Ibn Maʿīn declared him trustworthy, and he [S] said: He is not strong." Such a ḥadīth is acceptable unless his mistake is evident. He was followed by what does not benefit, as Mūsá ibn ʿUthmān al-Ḥaḍramī narrated it from al-Aʿmash from Abū Ṣāliḥ in a shortened form. Al-Bazzār included it in his "Musnad" (3/227/2629 - Kashf al-Astār), and said: "We do not know anyone who narrated it from al-Aʿmash from Abū Ṣāliḥ from Abū Hurayrah except Mūsá; it is only known from the ḥadīth of Kāmil from Abū Ṣāliḥ." Then he provided its isnād to him. As for this Mūsá, Abū Ḥātim said: "Abandoned." Therefore, al-Haythamī said in "al-Majmaʿ" (9/181): "Aḥmad and al-Bazzār narrated it in a shortened form, and he said: 'On a dark night,' and the men of Aḥmad are trustworthy." Through the route of this Mūsá ibn ʿUthmān, Abū Nuʿaym included it in "al-Dalāʾil" (p. 494), but "from Abū Ṣāliḥ" was missing from its isnād, and I do not know if this was from the copyist or the printer, or if the narration occurred to him in this way?!
