(We used to pray the ʿIshāʾ prayer with the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam), and when he prostrated, al-Ḥasan and al-Ḥusayn would climb onto his back. When he raised his head, he would gently take them [by the hand from behind] and place them down gently. When he prostrated again, they would return. After he finished the prayer, [he placed them on his thighs], one here and one there. Abū Hurayrah (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhu) said: I came to him and said: O Messenger of Allāh! Should I not take them to their mother? He said: No. Then a flash of lightning appeared, and he said: Go to your mother. They continued walking in its light until they entered [to their mother].) It was narrated by al-Ḥākim (3/167) - and the context is his -, and through his route by al-Bayhaqī in "Dalāʾil" (6/76), and Aḥmad in "al-Musnad" (2/513) - the first addition is his -, and his son ʿAbd Allāh in his additions to "Faḍāʾil al-Ṣaḥābah" by his father (2/785/1401) - the last addition is his -, and al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Muʿjam al-Kabīr" (3/45/2659) - the second addition is his -, and al-ʿUqaylī in "al-Ḍuʿafāʾ" (4/9), and Ibn ʿAdī in "al-Kāmil" (6/81); all of them from the route of Kāmil ibn al-ʿAlāʾ from Abū Ṣāliḥ from Abū Hurayrah who said: ... and he mentioned it. Al-Ḥākim said: "Its isnād is authentic." And al-Dhahabī agreed with him! I say: It is only ḥasan due to the well-known disagreement regarding Kāmil ibn al-ʿAlāʾ, and for this reason, the ḥāfiẓ said about him: "Truthful but makes mistakes."
(كنّا نصلِّي مع رسول الله ﷺ العِشاء، فإذا سجد وثب الحسن والحسين على ظهره، وإذا رفع رأسَه أخذهما [بيده من خلفه أخذاً رفيقاً] ، فوضعهما وضعاً رفيقاً، فإذا عاد، عادا، فلمّا صلَّى [وضعهما على فخذيه] واحداً ههنا، وواحداً ههنا، قال أبو هريرة ﵁:فجئته، فقلت: يا رسول الله! ألا أذهب بهما إلى أمهما؟! قال:لا، فبرقت برقة، فقال:الحقا بأمكما.فما زالا يمشيان في ضوئها، حتى دخلا [إلى أمهما] ) . أخرجه الحاكم (٣/١٦٧) - والسياق له-، ومن طريقه البيهقي في "الدلائل " (٦/٧٦) ، وأحمد في "المسند" (٢/٥١٣) - والزيادة الأولى له-، وابنه عبد الله في زوائده على "فضائل الصحابة " لأبيه (٢/٧٨٥/١٤٠١) - والزيادة الأخيرة له-، والطبراني في "المعجم الكبير" (٣/٤٥/٢٦٥٩) - والزيادة الثانية له-، والعقيلي في "الضعفاء" (٤/٩) ، وابن عدي في "الكامل " (٦/٨١) ؛ كلهم من طريق كامل بن العلاء عن أبي صالح عن أبي هريرة قال: ... فذكره. وقال الحاكم:"صحيح الإسناد". ووافقه الذهبي! قلت: وإنما هو حسن فقط؛ للخلاف المعروف في كامل بن العلاء، ولذلكقال فيه الحافظ:"صدوق يخطئ ".
