and the consideration remains for those above him, so I say: 1- Dāwūd ibn Abī ʿAwf Abū al-Jaḥḥāf, the ḥāfiẓ said: "Truthful, a Shīʿī, who perhaps made mistakes." 2- ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Abī Ziyād—also said: Ibn Ziyād—al-Aʿmash also narrated from him, and he was deemed trustworthy by Ibn Maʿīn and al-ʿAjlī, and al-Bukhārī said: "There is some consideration regarding him." I say: his ḥadīth is ḥasan, if Allāh wills. And the ḥāfiẓ said: "Acceptable!" 3- As for (ʿAbd Allāh ibn al-Ḥārith ibn Nawfal); he is trustworthy by consensus, and from the men of the two Shaykhs. Thus, the isnād is ḥasan, and if the isnād of ʿAlī's ḥadīth is added to it, the ḥadīth gains strength and rises to the level of ṣaḥīḥ. Perhaps for this reason, al-Dhahabī remained silent about it in "al-Siyar" (3/258) after he presented it from the narration of al-Ṭayālisī. And Allāh knows best. *

It was recorded by Aḥmad in "al-Zuhd" (p. 26), and al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Muʿjam al-Kabīr" (20/159/331) through various chains from Sharīk ibn ʿAbd Allāh from ʿAṭāʾ ibn Yasār:
