(If two men entered into Islam and then quarreled, one of them would be outside of Islam until he returns. Meaning: the oppressor). It was recorded by al-Bazzār in "Musnad" (p. 245 - Zawāʾid): ʿAbd al-Wārith ibn ʿAbd al-Ṣamad narrated to us: My father narrated to me: Shabīb narrated from al-Aʿmash from Zayd ibn Wahb from ʿAbd Allāh ibn Masʿūd who said: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: ... and he mentioned it. And he said: "Authentic." I am not certain who said "authentic." Was it al-Bazzār or al-Haythamī, the author of "al-Zawāʾid"? The latter is more likely, as he said in "Majmaʿ al-Zawāʾid" (8/66): "It was narrated by al-Bazzār, and its men are the men of the authentic collections." However, it appeared as a mawqūf narration without mentioning the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam), unlike in "al-Targhīb," where it appeared (3/282) as marfūʿ as in "al-Zawāʾid," and he said: "Its narrators are the narrators of the authentic collections." And it is as they said; all its men are trustworthy, the men of the two Shaykhs, except for the shaykh of ʿAbd al-Ṣamad, who is Ibn ʿAbd al-Wārith; I did not recognize him because it was not clear to me from the copy—and it is poor—whether it is (Shabīb) with a bāʾ after the shīn or (Shuʿayb) with an ʿayn. Whether it is this or that, I did not identify him; but it is possible that it is a distortion of "Shuʿbah," who is Shuʿbah ibn al-Ḥajjāj, the well-known trustworthy narrator, as he is among the shaykhs of ʿAbd al-Ṣamad and narrates from al-Aʿmash. If so, the isnād above al-Bazzār is authentic. However, there is some reservation about al-Bazzār's unique elevation of it, as despite his memorization, there has been some discussion
