- "The delight of my eyes has been placed in prayer." It was recorded by al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Muʿjam al-Kabīr" (20/420/1012): Ḥafṣ ibn ʿUmar al-Ruqī and Muḥammad ibn al-Ḥasan ibn Kaysān al-Miṣīṣī narrated to us, saying: Abū Ḥudhayfah narrated to us: Sufyān narrated to us from Ziyād ibn ʿIlāqah from al-Mughīrah ibn Shuʿbah who said: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: ... and he mentioned it. I said: This is a good isnād. "Abū Ḥudhayfah's name is: (Mūsá ibn Masʿūd); the ḥāfiẓ said: 'Truthful but poor in memory, and he used to make errors in transcription, and his ḥadīth is found in al-Bukhārī's follow-ups.'" Al-Dhahabī said in "al-Mīzān": "Truthful, if Allāh wills, he errs, Aḥmad spoke about him, and al-Tirmidhī weakened him, and Ibn Khuzaymah said: I do not use him as evidence..." I said: But he has a strong corroborating report narrated by Yaḥyá ibn ʿUthmān al-Ḥarbī: Hīqal ibn Ziyād narrated to us from al-Awzāʿī from Isḥāq ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn Abī Ṭalḥah from Anas ibn Mālik who said: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: ... and he mentioned it. It was recorded by al-ʿUqaylī (4/420), and al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Muʿjam al-Awsaṭ" (5772), and in "al-Muʿjam al-Ṣaghīr" (p. 153 - Hind) and through his route: al-Khaṭīb in "al-Tārīkh" (12/371 and 14/190). This is a ṣaḥīḥ isnād, all its men are trustworthy, and it has been criticized with what does not harm, as has been verified earlier in numbers (1107, 1809). I have only repeated it here as a corroborating report for this ḥadīth of Abū Ḥudhayfah. The ḥadīth has also come through another route from Anas, more complete than what is here, and it is extracted in "al-Mishkāt" (5261), and "al-Rawḍ al-Naḍīr" number (53)
