Muslim: ʿAbd Allāh ibn Zayd narrated to us: ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿĀmir al-Yaḥṣabī narrated to me, saying: I heard Wāthilah ibn al-Asqaʿ with it. I said: And this isnād is authentic, all its men are trustworthy, continuously narrated, and Muḍar ibn Muḥammad al-Asadī was deemed reliable by al-Khaṭīb (13/268-269). And with this continuous chain, it is rare and precious; Ibn Abī ʿĀṣim also narrated it (1482), and al-Ṭabarānī through two other routes from al-Walīd ibn Muslim with it, without al-Yaḥṣabī explicitly stating he heard it. Zayd and al-Walīd were followed up by Ibrāhīm ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn al-ʿAlāʾ ibn Zayd who said: My father narrated it to me in an abridged form. Al-Ṭabarānī narrated it in "al-Kabīr" and in "Musnad al-Shāmiyyīn" (1/452-453), and from him Abū Nuʿaym in "al-Maʿrifah" (1/4/1). And this Ibrāhīm was narrated from by Abū Ḥātim and he remained silent about him (2/109/319), and Ibn Ḥibbān mentioned him in "al-Thiqāt" (8/66), but al-Nasāʾī said: "He is not trustworthy"! This does not harm [the narration]; for he is a follower, and therefore al-Haythamī said (10/20): "al-Ṭabarānī narrated it through routes, and the men of one of them are the men of the authentic [collections]." Al-Ḥāfiẓ al-ʿAlāʾī mentioned him in ".. of those who have confirmed noble companionship" (70/15) from the narration of al-Walīd ibn Muslim with his aforementioned chain, with an unbroken chain, without attributing it to anyone; and he said: "And its isnād is authentic." And its verifier, Dr. ʿAbd al-Raḥīm al-Qashqarī, did not add in his referencing except to quote the aforementioned statement of al-Ḥāfiẓ al-Haythamī! *
