that speech from him (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) occurred in poetic form without intention, and this is not considered poetry, as the ḥāfiẓ clarified in "al-Fatḥ" (10/541-542), so refer to it as it is important.*
وقوع الكلام منه ﷺ منظوماً من غير قصد إلى ذلك، ولا يسمى ذلك شِعراً، كما حققه الحافظ في "الفتح " (١٠/٥٤١- ٥٤٢) ، فراجعه فإنه مهم. *

It was narrated by Abū Bakr ibn Abī Shaybah in "al-Muṣannaf" (12/178/4/12463) and through his route: Ibn Abī ʿĀṣim in "al-Sunnah" (2/630/1480) - and the context is his; it is more complete - and al-Ṭabarānī also from him in "al-Muʿjam al-Kabīr" (22/85/207): Zayd ibn al-Ḥubāb narrated to us, he said: ʿAbd Allāh ibn al-ʿAlāʾ Abū al-Zubayr al-Dimashqī narrated to us, he said: ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿĀmir narrated to us from Wāthilah ibn al-Asqaʿ, he said: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: ... and he mentioned it. I say: This isnād is good, its men are the men of "al-Ṣaḥīḥ," and the ḥāfiẓ said in "al-Fatḥ" (5/7), "It was narrated by Ibn Abī Shaybah, and its isnād is ḥasan."
