behind the house of Ḥammād ibn Zayd -: al-Jurayrī narrated to us from Abū Naḍrah from him. that when he saw the youth, he would say: "Welcome to the advice of the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam), he commanded us to preserve the ḥadīth for you and to make room for you in gatherings." It was recorded by al-Rāmahurmuzī and through his route by al-Ḥāfiẓ al-ʿAlāʾī, who said: "I did not know this Abū ʿAbd Allāh." However, there are two other routes for the ḥadīth from Abū Saʿīd: 1 - from Abū Khālid, the client of Ibn al-Ṣabāḥ al-Asadī, from him that he used to say: "Welcome to the advice of the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) when they came to him for knowledge." It was recorded by al-Rāmahurmuzī, and this Abū Khālid I did not know. 2 - from Shahr ibn Ḥawshab from him with the addition: "I heard the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) say: 'People will come to you seeking understanding, so teach them and teach them well.'" It was recorded by ʿAbd Allāh ibn Wahb in "al-Musnad" (8/167/2) and ʿAbd al-Ghanī al-Maqdisī in "Kitāb al-ʿIlm" (50/1) from Ibn Zuḥr from Layth ibn Abī Sulaym from Shahr. I say: This isnād is weak, consisting of a series of weak narrators: Shahr and those below him. However, it is in a better state than the ḥadīth of Abū Hārūn al-ʿAbdī, which was previously mentioned in the words of al-Ḥākim, as Ibn Maʿīn also mentioned. In "al-Muntaqā": "From Ibrāhīm ibn al-Junayd, who said: Yāḥyā ibn Maʿīn mentioned to me this ḥadīth of Abū Hārūn and said: 'Layth ibn Abī Sulaym narrated it from Shahr ibn Ḥawshab from Abū Saʿīd similarly.'" It was said to Yāḥyā: "Is this also weak like Abū Hārūn?" He said: "No, this is stronger and better. Ibn Abī Maryam narrated it to us from Yaḥyā ibn Ayyūb from Layth."
