to convert to Islam, so he accepted Islam, and the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: "All praise is due to Allāh who saved him from the Fire." When he died, he said: "Pray over your companion." This was narrated by al-Bukhārī and others, and it is included in "Aḥkām al-Janāʾiz" (p. 21). There is another, more complete, supporting narration that will be mentioned soon, if Allāh wills. Al-Ḥāfiẓ mentioned a difference regarding al-Jurayrī in its isnād; Ibn Khuzaymah narrated it in his "Ṣaḥīḥ," and al-Ḥasan ibn Sufyān in his "Musnad" through the route of Sālim ibn Nūḥ from al-Jurayrī from ʿAbd Allāh ibn Shaqīq from Abū Ṣakhr—a man from Banū ʿUqayl—and sometimes he said: ʿAbd Allāh ibn Qudāmah, who said: I came to Madīnah during the time of the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) ... the ḥadīth. He omitted the Bedouin from the isnād and made it from the Musnad of Abū Ṣakhr himself, and added to the isnād: (ʿAbd Allāh ibn Shaqīq). Similarly, Abū Aḥmad al-Ḥākim narrated it in "al-Kuná" (1/242/2-243) through the route of Ibn Khuzaymah, and Abū Nuʿaym in "al-Maʿrifah" (1/271/2) through the route of al-Ḥasan ibn Sufyān and others who said: Muḥammad ibn al-Muthanná narrated to us: Sālim ibn Nūḥ narrated to us with it. I said: And Sālim ibn Nūḥ—although he is among the narrators of Muslim—there is some discussion about him, as indicated by al-Ḥāfiẓ's statement about him: "Trustworthy, but he has errors." Therefore, when someone like him contradicts Ismāʿīl—who is Ibn ʿUlayyah—his narration is considered weaker, because
