from his route: al-Ṭabarī narrated it (16/91) in an extended form. I found a corroborator for it; it is narrated by Yūsuf ibn al-ʿAnbas al-Yamānī: ʿIkrimah ibn ʿAmmār narrated to us from Yaḥyá ibn Abī Kathīr from Abū Salamah from Abū Hurayrah as a marfūʿ ḥadīth. It was narrated by al-Aṣbahānī in "al-Targhīb" (1/314/713). I said: ʿIkrimah ibn ʿAmmār is weak in [narrating from] Yaḥyá ibn Abī Kathīr. As for Yūsuf ibn al-ʿAnbas al-Yamānī, I did not find a biography for him. It is also narrated from the ḥadīth of Ibn Masʿūd at the end of the ḥadīth: "Indeed, Allāh has distributed your manners among you..." similar to the ḥadīth of the translation, and it adds: "for they are the ones that precede, flank, and follow, and they are the enduring righteous deeds." It was narrated by al-Bayhaqī in "al-Shuʿab" (1/426) from the route of al-Ḥākim (1/34); however, this addition is not found with him, and in its isnād there is someone I do not know, and there is a missing link in al-Bayhaqī's chain, so it should be retrieved from "al-Mustadrak"; without it, the isnād is authentic, as previously extracted under number (2714). From the ḥadīth of Ibn ʿAbbās, narrated by Ismāʿīl ibn Ṣāliḥ ibn ʿAlī ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿAbbās: My father Ṣāliḥ narrated to me: My father narrated to me: ʿAlī narrated to me: My father ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿAbbās said: I was with the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam)... the ḥadīth is similar to the extended ḥadīth of Abū al-Dardāʾ. It was narrated by Ibn ʿAsākir in "Tārīkh Dimashq" (2/841) in the biography of this Ismāʿīl, and he did not mention anything in his biography indicating his status in narration, nor did I find any mention of him in anything
