al-Dhahabī refuted it by saying: "I said: al-Qāsim is weak." I said: He is al-Qāsim ibn Muḥammad ibn Abī Shaybah al-ʿAbsī, the brother of the two ḥadīth scholars Abū Bakr and ʿUthmān. Abū Zurʿah and Abū Ḥātim abandoned him, and al-Sājī said: "He is abandoned in ḥadīth." Ibn Ḥibbān deviated by mentioning him in "al-Thiqāt" (9/18), but he said: "He makes mistakes and contradicts"! Then I say: Even if he is accepted, his teacher (Yaḥyá ibn Yaʿlá), who is al-Aslamī, will not be accepted; for he is "weak and a Shīʿī" as stated in "al-Taqrīb." Thus, it becomes clear that this ḥadīth of Jābir is extremely weak and not suitable for citation. And Allāh is the source of success. (Note and Benefit): In "al-Fatḥ" (7/476), the ḥadīth of Buraydah is attributed to "Aḥmad, al-Nasāʾī, Ibn Ḥibbān, and al-Ḥākim," but it is certainly not in "Ṣaḥīḥ Ibn Ḥibbān," neither in "al-Iḥsān" nor in "al-Mawārid." I did not find it in "al-Mustadrak" of al-Ḥākim after searching for it in its likely places and seeking assistance from both specific and general indexes. It was mentioned in the biography of (Maḥmūd ibn Maslamah) in "al-Iṣābah" that it appeared in "Ziyādāt al-Maghāzī" by Yūnus ibn Bukayr from al-Ḥusayn ibn Wāqid from ʿAbd Allāh ibn Buraydah: My father informed me, saying:
