"It was narrated by al-Bazzār, and its narrators are trustworthy; except that al-Aʿmash did not hear from Anas, although he saw him." Then I found a supporting narration from Buraydah ibn al-Ḥuṣayb (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhu) in the story of the stoning of the Ghamidiyyah woman when she came to the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) requesting the implementation of the punishment upon her. He said to her (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam), "Go back until you give birth." When she gave birth, she came to him with the child wrapped in a cloth and said, "I have given birth." He said, "Go and nurse him until you wean him." When she weaned him, she came to him with the child holding a piece of bread in his hand and said, "O Prophet of Allāh! I have weaned him, and he has eaten food." He then entrusted the child to a man from the Muslims, and then ordered for her to be buried up to her chest, and ordered the people to stone her. Then he (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said, "By the One in Whose hand is my soul! She has repented with a repentance that, if the collector of taxes had repented with it, he would have been forgiven." It was recorded by Muslim (5/20), Abū Dāwūd (4442), al-Bayhaqī (4/18 and 8/218 and 122), and Aḥmad (5/348). *
