"It was narrated by al-Bazzār and Aḥmad—in a long ḥadīth—and al-Ṭabarānī, and it includes al-Ḥārith ibn Ziyād; I did not find anyone who authenticated him, and no one narrated from him except Yūnus ibn Saif, and the rest of its narrators are trustworthy, though there is some disagreement about some of them." As for the ḥadīth of Ibn ʿAbbās, it is narrated by ʿUthmān ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān al-Jumaḥī from ʿAṭāʾ ibn Abī Rabāḥ from Ibn ʿAbbās as a marfūʿ ḥadīth. It was recorded by Abū Jaʿfar al-Razzāz in "Ḥadīth" (4/99/1), Ibn ʿAdī (5/162), and Ibn ʿAsākir (16/683-684), who said: "It is weak." I say: Its defect is this al-Jumaḥī; there is a difference of opinion about him, and as al-Dhahabī said in "al-Mīzān": "He is passable." Al-Ḥāfiẓ said in "al-Taqrīb": "He is not strong." I say: Someone like him is also used as supporting evidence, and it seems for this reason that al-Ḥāfiẓ Ibn Kathīr remained silent about him in "al-Bidāyah" (8/121) and did not declare him weak. As for the ḥadīth of ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Abī ʿUmayrah al-Muzanī, it is narrated by Saʿīd ibn ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz from Rabīʿah ibn Yazīd from him. It was recorded by al-Bukhārī in "al-Tārīkh" (4/1/327), Ibn ʿAsākir (16/684-686), and al-Dhahabī in "al-Siyar" (8/38)
