he said: "al-Ḥakam ibn Nāfiʿ narrated to us: Ibn ʿAyāsh narrated to us from Buḥayr ibn Saʿd from Khālid ibn Maʿdān from Kathīr ibn Murrah from ʿUbādah ibn al-Ṣāmit from the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) something similar." al-Mundhirī said: "It was narrated by Aḥmad and al-Ṭabarānī, and the isnād of Aḥmad is good." al-Haythamī said (5/293): "Aḥmad narrated it like this; he said: 'something similar,' and al-Bazzār and al-Ṭabarānī [also narrated it], except that he said: 'seven qualities,' and it is so, and the men of Aḥmad and al-Ṭabarānī are trustworthy." I say: The ḥadīth of al-Miqdām is more preferable to me; because it is the narration of the majority from Ibn ʿAyāsh. And Allāh knows best. There is also a difference regarding Kathīr ibn Murrah in its isnād; Aḥmad said (4/200): Zayd ibn Yaḥyá al-Dimashqī narrated to us, he said: Ibn Thawbān narrated to us from his father from Makhūl from Kathīr ibn Murrah from Qays al-Judhāmī—a man who was a Companion—he said: The Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: "The martyr is given six qualities at the first drop of his blood..." the ḥadīth. I said: He mentioned the qualities (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6) with some rearrangement. al-Haythamī said: "It was narrated by Aḥmad, and in it is ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Thābit ibn Thawbān, who was deemed trustworthy by Abū Ḥātim and a group, and weakened by a group."
