- The martyr has special qualities with Allāh: 1- He is forgiven at the first drop of his blood. 2- He is shown his place in Paradise. 3- He is adorned with the adornment of faith. 4- He is married to [seventy-two wives] from the ḥūr al-ʿīn. 5- He is protected from the punishment of the grave. 6- He is safe from the greatest terror. 7- A crown of dignity is placed on his head, one ruby of which is better than the world and everything in it. 8- He intercedes for seventy people from his family. It was recorded by al-Tirmidhī (1663) through the route of Baqiyyah, Ibn Mājah (2799), Aḥmad (4/131), al-Bayhaqī in "al-Shuʿab" (4/25/4254), and Ibn ʿAsākir in "al-Tārīkh" (5/517) - and the context is theirs - through the route of Ismāʿīl ibn ʿAyyāsh from Buḥayr ibn Saʿd al-Kalāʿī from Khālid ibn Maʿdān from al-Miqdām ibn Maʿdī Karib from the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) who said: ... and he mentioned it. Al-Tirmidhī said: "A ḥadīth that is ḥasan ṣaḥīḥ." I say: Its chain of narration is sound from the people of Shām, and Ismāʿīl ibn ʿAyyāsh's narration from the people of Shām - and this is among them - is sound, contrary to that deluded one who weakened his ḥadīth in the year of the caliphs
