the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam)?" ʿUmar said: "We are pleased with Allāh as our Lord, with Islam as our religion, with Muḥammad as our Prophet, and with the Qurʾān as our guide!" This relieved the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam), and then he said: "By the One in whose hand is Muḥammad's soul! If Mūsā were among you and you followed him and left me, you would surely go far astray. You are my share among the nations, and I am your share among the prophets." This is how al-Haythamī narrated it, and he said: "It was narrated by al-Ṭabarānī in 'al-Kabīr', and in it is Abū ʿĀmir al-Qāsim ibn Muḥammad al-Asadī, and I have not found anyone who documented him, but the rest of the narrators are trustworthy!" This is what he said! And there is a consideration from two aspects: the first is that Abū ʿĀmir was documented by al-Bukhārī (4/1/164) and Ibn Abī Ḥātim, who said: "Al-Qāsim ibn Muḥammad Abū ʿĀmir heard from Sufyān al-Thawrī, and Yaḥyā ibn Wāḍiḥ Abū Tamīlah narrated from him." Ibn Abī Ḥātim added: "And Manjāb ibn al-Ḥārith." They did not mention any criticism or endorsement of him! Ibn Ḥibbān mentioned him in 'al-Thiqāt' (5/305) as follows: "Al-Qāsim ibn Muḥammad Abū Nuhayk al-Asadī, narrates from Anas ibn Mālik, and Manṣūr and al-Thawrī narrated from him." This is how he included him in the generation of the Followers due to his narration from Anas
