and the ḥadīth was mentioned by al-Haythamī in (al-Majmaʿ) (2/234) where he said: (It was narrated by Aḥmad and Abū Yaʿlá, and the men of Aḥmad are the men of (al-Ṣaḥīḥ)). I say: there is no reason to specify Aḥmad's isnād with that, for the isnād of Abū Yaʿlá likewise has its men from (al-Ṣaḥīḥ), as Muḥammad ibn Bashshār—who is Abū Bakr Bundār—is also a trustworthy narrator from the shaykhs [al-Bukhārī and Muslim], and his shaykh Muḥammad is Ibn Jaʿfar, nicknamed (Ghundar). It was also narrated by Abū Dāwūd (1/611/1007), al-Ḥākim (1/270), al-Bayhaqī (2/190), and al-Ṭabarānī in (al-Muʿjam al-Kabīr) (22/284/728) through the route of Ashʿath ibn Shuʿbah from al-Minhāl ibn Khalīfah from al-Azraq ibn Qays who said: An imam who was known as Abū Ramthah led us in prayer and said, "I prayed this prayer or a similar prayer with the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam): Abū Bakr and ʿUmar stood in the front row to his right, and there was a man who had caught the first takbīrah of the prayer. The Prophet of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) then completed the prayer and greeted to his right and left until we saw the whiteness of his cheek, then he departed as Abū Ramthah departed—meaning himself." The man who caught the first takbīrah of the prayer stood to perform the additional prayer, so ʿUmar jumped towards him, took him by the shoulder, shook him, and said: Sit down... the ḥadīth, except that it said: The Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) raised his gaze and said: "May Allāh make you right, O son of al-Khaṭṭāb!" Al-Ḥākim said (Ṣaḥīḥ according to the conditions of Muslim), but al-Dhahabī refuted it by saying (I say: al-Minhāl was weakened by Ibn Maʿīn and Ashʿath is lenient, and the ḥadīth is munkar)
