in summary, the ḥadīth is authentic, and no one doubts this after reviewing these chains and the authentication by some of the ḥadīth scholars of some of them, except for those whose hearts Allāh has sealed among the people of desires, like that ignorant (Sakhkhāf) who opposes the path of the believers and the knowledgeable scholars, and weakens what they have authenticated, such as this ḥadīth about which he wrote a treatise titled—may his mouth be silenced—"The Narrations of the Ḥuffāẓ to Demonstrate the Fabrication of the Ḥadīth: 'I Saw My Lord in the Best Form'"! And by Allāh, he lied about them, especially when the leader of the ḥuffāẓ, Imām al-Bukhārī, authenticated it as mentioned earlier! He was followed by his student Imām al-Tirmidhī and others; Ibn ʿAbd al-Barr said in "al-Tamhīd" (24/325): "Its meaning according to the people of knowledge is: in his dream, and it is a good ḥadīth, narrated by trustworthy narrators." So this (Sakhkhāf) certainly knows that what the ḥuffāẓ declared fabricated is actually the truly fabricated ḥadīth mentioned earlier: "that he saw his Lord on the earth..." etc., and it is not the ḥadīth of the dispute, which is a dream vision as explicitly stated in some of the chains, and as the scholars have said as mentioned earlier. And by Allāh! I fear that behind this man is a group of corrupters on the earth, who have taken him as a means to corrupt the religion, facilitating for him the means of writing and publishing; to continue his attacks on the predecessors and scholars, deliberately opposing them, and accusing them of anthropomorphism! And among the latest of his statements is his claim that the belief that Allāh is in the sky is the creed of the polytheists and anthropomorphists. Likewise, the majority of scholars who authenticated the ḥadīth of the slave girl: "Where is Allāh?"
