"pride and arrogance are among the people of camels, and tranquility and dignity are among the people of sheep," and the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: "Mūsá (peace be upon him) was sent while he was tending sheep for his family, and I was sent while I was tending sheep for my family at Jiyād." It was recorded by Aḥmad (3/42 and 96), and al-Bazzār (3/114/4370) through the route of Ḥajjāj ibn Arṭāh from ʿAṭiyyah ibn Saʿd from him. I say: This isnād is weak due to the weakness of Ḥajjāj and ʿAṭiyyah, and al-Haythamī criticized it (4/65 and 8/256) due to Ḥajjāj alone, and he said: "He is a mudallis." There is a sound supporting narration for the ḥadīth from the narration of Abū Hurayrah, raised [to the Prophet], with the wording: "Allāh did not send a prophet except that he tended sheep..." the ḥadīth; it was narrated by al-Bukhārī and others, and it is referenced in "Ghāyat al-Marām" (121/161). *
- (Indeed, "Subḥān Allāh, and al-ḥamdu lillāh, and lā ilāha illā Allāh, and Allāhu akbar" shake off sins as a tree shakes off its leaves). It was recorded by al-Bukhārī in "al-Adab al-Mufrad" (634), and Aḥmad (3/152), and al-Ḥārith ibn Abī Usāmah in "Musnad/ Zawāʾid" (folio 124/2) through the route of ʿAbd al-Wārith who said: Abū Rabīʿah Sinān narrated to us, he said: Anas ibn Mālik narrated to us that the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) took a branch and shook it, but it did not shed [leaves], then he shook it and it did not shed, then he shook it, and it shed, and he said: ... and he mentioned it
