salamah in the year 62, according to the most accurate opinion, and al-Shaʿbī was born around the year twenty, so he was her contemporary and witnessed a good portion of her life. The statement of al-Ḥāfiẓ following what has been mentioned: "ʿAlī ibn al-Madīnī said in the book 'al-ʿIlal': al-Shaʿbī did not hear from Umm Salamah, and thus the ḥadīth is disconnected." I think this is based on the requirement of confirmed meeting, which al-Bukhārī stipulates in his 'Ṣaḥīḥ' for establishing connection, and perhaps he received this from his teacher Ibn al-Madīnī. The majority are satisfied with establishing contemporaneity, which is verified here as mentioned earlier. Additionally, in the biography of al-Shaʿbī, it is stated: "He heard from forty-eight Companions, and he is two years older than Abū Isḥāq, and Abū Isḥāq is two years older than ʿAbd al-Malik, and al-Shaʿbī rarely transmits except what is authentic." al-Ḥāfiẓ mentioned this in "al-Tahdhīb," quoting al-ʿAjlī, and he affirmed it. Perhaps this is why—meaning al-Ḥāfiẓ—he prefaced his extraction of the ḥadīth by saying: "A good ḥadīth." Otherwise, he should have said—based on his judgment of disconnection—"a weak ḥadīth"! And Allāh knows best. Secondly: Shuʿbah ibn al-Ḥajjāj, al-Ṭayālisī said in his "Musnad" (224/1607): Shuʿbah narrated it to us. And through his route: it was extracted by Abū Dāwūd (5/327/5094), al-Nasāʾī in "ʿAmal al-Yawm wa-al-Laylah" (no. 86), Aḥmad (6/321-322), and al-Ṭabarānī in his "Muʿjam" (no. 726)
