al-Muṣannif (8/109), Aḥmad (2/409, 496, 157), Abū Yaʿlá (10/398/6002), and al-Bayhaqī (8/289-290) through many chains from al-Awzāʿī with it. al-Tirmidhī said: "A ḥadīth that is ḥasan ṣaḥīḥ." The second: Yaḥyá ibn Abī Kathīr: that Abū Kathīr narrated it to him. It was recorded by Muslim, Abū Dāwūd (3678), al-Nasāʾī also, as well as al-Ṭaḥāwī, and ʿAbd al-Razzāq in "al-Muṣannif" (9/234), and through his route: Aḥmad (2/279) and from others also (2/408) through chains from Yaḥyá with it. The third: ʿIkrimah ibn ʿAmmār from him. It was recorded by Muslim, Ibn Mājah (2/1121/3378), Ibn Ḥibbān (7/366/5320), and al-Ṭaḥāwī also, and Aḥmad (2/526) through chains from him. The fourth: from ʿUqbah ibn al-Tuwām from him. It was recorded by Muslim and al-Ṭaḥāwī through two routes from him, and al-Ṭaḥāwī added from the route of ʿAbd Allāh ibn Ḥimrān who said: ʿUqbah ibn al-Tuwām al-Raqāshī narrated to us, saying: Abū Kathīr al-Yamāmī narrated to me, saying: I came from al-Yamāmah to al-Madīnah when people greatly differed regarding nabīdh; to meet Abū Hurayrah and ask him about it. I met him and said: O Abū Hurayrah! I have come to you from al-Yamāmah to ask you about nabīdh, so narrate to me from the Prophet ﷺ; do not narrate to me from anyone else.
