he spoke words I did not understand, so I said: O Mother of the Believers! It seems I saw the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) angry? She said: Yes, did you not hear him?! She said: I said: And what did he say? She said: He said: ... and she mentioned the ḥadīth in a similar manner. It was recorded by Aḥmad (6/294 and 418). I said: And this isnād has narrators who are trustworthy according to Muslim; however, he did not include Shurayk ibn ʿAbd Allāh—who is al-Nakhaʿī the judge—except as a corroboration due to his weakness, so his ḥadīth is strong with what precedes it from the narration of Ibn ʿUyaynah, despite the differences in its narration; whether it is ʿĀʾishah, or a servant of the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam)? In this narration of Shurayk, it is Umm Salamah. And there is another route: it is narrated by Khalaf ibn Khalīfah from Layth from ʿAlqamah ibn Murthad from al-Maʿrūr ibn Suwayd from Umm Salamah who said: I heard the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) say: ... and he mentioned it. It was recorded by Aḥmad (6/304), and al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Muʿjam al-Kabīr" (23/325/747) through routes from Khalaf. I said: And Layth; it appears he is Ibn Abī Sulaym al-Ḥimṣī, and he had mixed up, and similarly Khalaf ibn Khalīfah; although they are among the narrators of Muslim, and therefore al-Haythamī said in "al-Majmaʿ" (7/268): "Aḥmad narrated it with two isnāds, the narrators of one of them are the narrators of the ṣaḥīḥ"! He means this isnād, and by the other—Allāh knows best—he means the narration of Shurayk mentioned before this. And Jāmiʿ ibn Abī Rāshid has another isnād: it is narrated by Hāshim ibn al-Qāsim: Muḥammad ibn Ṭalḥah narrated to us from Zubayd who said: Jāmiʿ ibn Abī Rāshid narrated to me—while his tears were flowing—from Umm Mubashshir from Umm Salamah, the wife of the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) with it
